Reflecmedia is the UK’s leading innovator of cutting edge chroma key technology. The company'smanufacturing base in Cheshire and equipemnt is supplied globally via a network of resellers and distributors, bringing industry-leading products within the reach of everyone involved with film, TV and video production and digital content creation
INTRODUCTION
Chroma key – commonly referred to as blue screen or green screen – is the technique for combining two images, in which the coloured background from one image is removed (or made transparent) to reveal another image behind it. Used for decades in feature film, video and television production, the process remained largely unchanged until Reflecmedia launched their Chromatte cloth and Litering in 2002, followed by the ChromaFlex, Chromaflex EL and BaseMatte.
Whereas traditional chroma key involves a complex professional studio setup with a large blue or green screen background, our innovative range of flexible, portable, safe* and easy to use products mean that with minimal lighting and technical expertise almost any location can be used as a virtual studio at a fraction of the usual costs – providing endless creative possibilities for digital content creation.
WHAT MAKES A REFLECMEDIA SETUP:-
Apart from a reasonably good quality 3 CCD camera, all you need to get is a Reflecmedia drape (iether Chromatte or ChromaFlex), a LiteRing with controller and lens adaptor. With these and almost any available software and a suitable interface from your camera to a computer you can be up and running. Of course if you want to live key the Ultimatte DV is required.
In addition to the products shown below we can supply from Reflecmedia, additional accessories and products such as the Ultimatte DV Keyer, various lighting fixtures & adaptors, Matte box rails etc.
Also recently introduced MoVieSet - a simple to use software-based virtual set design and playout system created around a real-time 3D rendering engine. It allows users with limited studio facilities the ability to design and playout broadcast-quality virtual sets via its internal chromakeyer. MoViSet is available in several upgradeable versions, from entry level to fully a featured VR system.

The Litering:-
 |
Chromatte fabric is designed to work in conjunction with a LiteRing. The LiteRing features Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that are arranged in a circular casing that is positioned in front of the camera lens. This provides all the light required to illuminate the Chromatte background for chroma key production.
LiteRings are available in green and blue and in three sizes to fit different size lenses. Each size has a series of adapters to ensure maximum compatibility. These specially designed adapter rings simply screw into the filter thread on the front of the lens and then the LiteRing is placed on to the adapter and locked with a single screw, significantly reducing the set-up time associated with conventional chroma key.
Available LiteRing Sizes are:-
Small - 72mm internal diameter
(For use with adapters to fit72 | 62 | 58 | 52 | 37 | 30 lenses)
Medium - 112mm internal diameter
(For use with adapters to fit adapters for 105 | 95 | 94 | 86 | 82 | 80 | 77 | 72 | 67 lenses)
Large - 147mm internal diameter
(For use with adapters to fit adapter to fit 127 lens)
The LiteRing brightness is regulated using the LiteRing Controller, which is powered by 12v DC from a universal power supply or camera battery – for flexibility in or out of the studio. |
Chromatte™, ChromaFlex & BaseMatte:-
 |
Chromatte is a fabric designed specifically for use as a background for chroma key production. Unlike conventional chroma key fabrics that are usually blue or green in colour, in ambient light Chromatte is grey to the eye. The fabric contains millions of tiny glass beads that act as reflectors: when any light - such as the directional light from Reflecmedia’s lens-mounted LiteRing – hits the fabric, it is returned on the same path back into the camera’s lens. This retro-reflectice process means the camera ‘sees’ the apparently grey fabric as a perfectly even blue or green background. More info.... |

ChromaFlex provides all the benefits of Reflecmedia’s revolutionary Chromatte fabric in the most portable form, making it easier and more affordable than ever to take chroma key production out of the studio and into any controlled lighting environment. The results are as good as those achieved in a dedicated studio, but this way you can take your chroma key studio wherever you go! More info.... |

Basematte is specifically designed for use as flooring. It is Chromatte cloth laminated to a close cell, high density, resilient neoprene rubber base to provide a flat, even and non-slip surface. It forms easily to most carpets and solid floors. When used with ChromaFlex or a Chromatte curtain, it enables the cameraman to frame full body shots. And should an accident happen in the studio, it is easy to replace BaseMatte - unlike a studio floor. More info....
