Pro-Line comprises of a complete range of Professional Quality Sound Cards and Interfaces encompasing PCI, PCIe, PCMCIA, ExpressCard FireWire and USB2 formats.The Newest members of the family are BabyFace (desktop interface, USB2, 10 inputs & 12 outputs). And released in October 2010 the FireFace UFX (USB & FireWire interface with 30 I/O's). RME Proline products are widely used by Audio Professionals in the Recording Studios and TV, Radio & Multimedia Production Industry.

Premium-Line comprises of a comprehensive range of High-end Audio Products, primarily MADI systems. These are aimed more for Medium to Large scale Multi-track recording applications and for Broadcast facilities, where large numbers of audio channels need to be coordinated and moved around a facility.

RME's partner & associate company ALVA Cableware provides a convenient range of cable solutions that complement the RME product ranges. ALVA products include high quality ready made breakout cables for analog & digital audio, TOSLink & MADI optical cables as well as BNC cables for Wordclock and Coaxial MADI applications. In addition there are useful adaptors & 'pinout converts' for Tascam > Yamaha & Yamaha > Tascam. Checkout 'MiC-CAL' - a Test-tone Generator in an XLR plug, pwered by regular phantom power.

Technologies:

MADI is different: A thin optical cable transmits up to 64 audio channels, losslessly, over a distance of up to 2000 meters! (up to 100m if using coaxial cable)
